Job summary

Merakey is hiring Direct Support Professionals for our Elk Grove, CA program (ZIP 95624). DSPs support individuals with IDD in homes and community settings, implementing behavior plans and assisting with daily living activities. We seek compassionate, resilient staff able to stay calm in challenging situations.

Schedule is 2nd shift with weekends Fri-Mon & Wed 3:00 PM-11:00 PM. Pay is $24.00-$26.00 per hour, with potential to earn up to $26/hr after RBT certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license, if required.
• Ability to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language.
• Must have desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
• Complete PPD testing and Physical Examination upon hire and minimally every 2 years thereafter.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, community settings, and Adult Training Facilities.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Promote community engagement and independence while ensuring health, safety, dignity, and well-being.
• Implement behavior support plans and maintain composure in challenging situations.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Certification-Registered Behavior Technician or licensed psychiatric technician; or become a registered behavior technician within twelve months of initial employment.

DSP 1 and DSP 2 Certification – Required within 12 months of hire.

Earnup to $26/hr once you have received your RBT – Registered Behavioral Technician certification.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, community settings, and Adult Training Facilities. This role serves individuals with complex behavioral needs, including severe aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behaviors, and crisis situations. DSPs implement behavior support plans, assist with personal care and daily living activities, promote community engagement, and help individuals build independence while ensuring their health, safety, dignity, and well-being. Requirements

Education/License/Certification(s):

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification-Registered Behavior Technician or licensed psychiatric technician; or become a registered behavior technician within twelve months of initial employment.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification – Required within 12 months of hire.
Merakey will provide access to the necessary training and support to help employees meet the RBT, DSP1 & DSP2 requirements. RBT, DSP1 & DSP2 must be completed within 1 year of hire.

• 6 months experience working with IDD/MH population or equivalent
• Dual Diagnose experience is a PLUS!
