West Bay RI is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with IDD in their homes and community. The role emphasizes promoting independence, following care plans, and fostering respectful relationships with people supported, families, and community partners.
You will work full-time in Cranston and surrounding communities, with a 35-hour week and shifts Tue–Sat or Sun–Thu. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required; comprehensive benefits are available.
NEW RATE: $24.00/hourly
Support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in their homes and community to develop their maximum independence. Respectfully and consistently communicate to develop and maintain quality-based relationships in a healthy environment. Foster a positive, productive team environment with people supported, co-workers, families and community associations. Encourage independence and natural support by providing quality decision making opportunities.
Provide assistance with informed decision making to enable positive outcomes with activities of daily living including personal care, household chores; health maintenance and relationship facilitation. Promote social opportunities and community inclusion for the individuals. Encourage independence and natural support by providing quality decision making opportunities. Promote appropriate communication and interactions consistent with agency values. Follow all care plans, including proper administration of medications. Objectively monitor; report and document individuals status, including implementing care plans and goals. Model and maintain a positive, supportive, productive team and work environment in multiple settings. Maintain required training, including Safety Care, CPR/AED/1st Aid; Human Rights, HIPAA. Honest, reliable and trustworthy with a respectful attitude and behavior that strives for excellence.
