Job summary

Addus HomeCare in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. This entry-level role offers flexible hours and opportunities to learn the fundamentals of quality home care while supporting a meaningful mission.

You will follow care plans, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, transportation, and monitor client well-being. A HS diploma or GED and reliable transportation are required; a background check will be

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of in-home care services experience
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with proof of insurance
• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions
• Good communication skills and self-motivation

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.)
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
• Transport member to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary
• Assist member with self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring)
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition
