Job summary

Addus Homecare is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help seniors and people with disabilities live independently. This entry‑level role offers flexible hours and meaningful work with an industry leader focused on quality home care.

Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, transporting clients to appointments, and supporting daily routines while reporting changes in condition. A HS diploma or GED and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year in-home care experience.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Follow a care plan for the member and report on completed tasks.
• Assist people with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Support routine house cleaning, laundry, and assist with meal preparation.
• Transport member to appointments, daily errands, and other locations as necessary.
• Assist member with the self-administration of medications (no administering or measuring).
• Observe and report any changes in member's condition.

• Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions
• Good communication skills
