Job summary

Help at Home in Missouri is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide in-home care for clients in Cape Girardeau. You’ll support daily activities and offer compassionate companionship to help clients stay independent.

Responsibilities include meal preparation, light cleaning, grooming, transportation to appointments, and coordinating with families to create a safe, supportive home environment. Eligibility: HS diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification or

As a Direct Support Professional, You’ll Work 1-on-1 With Your Clients Inside Their Homes, And Support Them With The Following Types Of Activities

• In-Home Assistance – Help your clients with day-to-day activities like preparing meals, cleaning, dressing, grooming, laundry, monitoring vital signs, bathing, toileting, technology and other basic activities
• Companionship – Join your clients in playing games, arts and crafts, and accompany them to events outside the home like appointments, grocery shopping and running errands
• Community Building – Create a safe and positive living situation for your clients by communicating with the family and other staff about any concerns or challenges

Eligibility Requirements

• A HS Diploma or GED
• A valid driver’s license
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain prior to employment
• Access to insured and reliable transportation
• Recognition of the needs of others, and the ability to build relationships with people from different backgrounds
• Flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to spend evenings and weekends caring for your clients with dignity, patience, and compassion
• Dedication to professional development, including organizational and state-required training
