Job summary

American Training is seeking Direct Support Professionals to care for Residents with developmental disabilities in Merrimack Valley Residential homes. Shifts include 3pm–11pm with weekend availability; full-time and part-time roles available.

You will help Residents in daily activities, promote empowerment, and create a positive, engaging environment. Responsibilities include assisting with meals, transportation, and daily living tasks while fostering meaningful relationships.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and compassion.
• Satisfactory CORI and DDS fingerprinting (required).
• Valid State driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance (required).
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and perform First Aid/CPR as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Residents to participate in communities as workers, neighbors, and friends.
• Fosters an environment of empowerment and choice for all Residents.
• Supports Residents’ personal preferences, goals, and aspirations daily.
• Assist with home maintenance including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry.
• Maintain a positive, FUN environment and create WOW! experiences for Residents.

• Supports Residents in the maintenance of their homes including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and laundry.

Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate a sense of empathy, patience, and compassion.


• Satisfactory CORI and DDS fingerprinting (required).


• Valid State driver’s license and the use of a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (required).


• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and have the ability to physically implement First Aid/CPR to Residents in emergency situations.
