Job summary

Kids for the Future in Akron, OH is seeking a DSP/Supervisor to lead a production crew in an injection mold facility. You will ensure safety, quality, and productivity while enforcing policies and procedures.

The role includes training crew members, operating molding equipment, inspecting parts, labeling and packing, and coordinating with management to meet client needs. This full-time, non-exempt position offers a 11:00 AM–8:00 PM schedule and a base pay of $18.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license (less than six points).
• Regular attendance is an essential function.

• Enter daily hours, productivity and general data on tablets.
• Provide non-medical transportation for clients.

Summary/Objective

The DSP/Supervisor is responsible for working with their crew in an injection mold facility. All aspects of this position require an individual who is safety conscious, has an enjoyable, outgoing attitude, and wants to excel in a group employment workforce. This position is responsible for enforcing and maintaining all policies and procedures. This position is required to meet internal and external customer needs in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.

Major Work Duties

Essential Job Functions

• Train crew members on the following task or operations
• Operate injection molding machines and assembly equipment
• Safely use hand tools (clippers, knifes / trim tools & tape guns)
• Visually inspect parts for defects
• Label and assembled boxes
• Package product and palletize product according to the specs
• Palletize master cartoons according to specs
• Notify Production Supervisor of any nonconforming parts
• Effectively communicate problems and issues with management
• Enter daily hours, productivity and general data on tablets
• Provide non-medical transportation for clients

Documentation & Administrative Tasks

• Record daily payroll in the company’s payroll system
• Complete required tracking forms and documentation for individuals served
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Ensure confidentiality of all client and organizational information
• Train and support team members in production tasks and workplace expectations
• Provide ongoing coaching to ensure quality, safety, and productivity standards are met
• Foster teamwork, communication, and a positive work culture
• Communicate effectively with management regarding operational issues and team performance

Safety & Compliance

• Follow and enforce all OSHA safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain and support safety programs, ensuring continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including documentation and reporting requirements
• Address and elevate workplace concerns or incidents appropriately

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Must train and oversee crew members (per DODD rules and properly supervising and safety techniques, reviewing the training effectiveness)
• Must maintain a Safety Program for crew members, reviewing for continuous improvements
• Must maintain all crew members' ISPs, making sure the most recent ISP for each crew member has at the worksite (per DODD rules)
• Must follow MUI/UIR reporting procedures (per County Boards and the DODD rules)
• Must report any changes or behavior issues to the Training & Advocacy Support Manager, Service & Support Administrator (SSA), the Weaver Group Employment General Manager.
• Must complete and submit all required paperwork (tracking forms, etc.)
• Must ensure crew members wear their PPE at all times
