Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Rio Rancho, NM is hiring Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

No experience required—paid training will be provided, and starting pay is $17.00 per hour. You will support daily routines, accompany individuals to appointments, document care activities, and help develop independent living skills in community settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to establish supportive relationships with individuals served.
• Good judgment and calmness in crisis situations.
• Background checks and drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with IDD.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health needs and report concerns promptly.
• Support development of independent and community-based skills.
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments and activities.
• Complete program documentation and billing records accurately.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members, businesses, and families.
• Support staff as needed and cooperate with inspections.
