Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Tucson, AZ is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide person-centered care for individuals with IDD. Roles include assisting with daily routines, transportation, and documenting care. Paid training provided; no experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to establish a supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
• Employment contingent upon background checks including criminal, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns.
• Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills.
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals.
• Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or inquiries.
