Job summary

ComServ is seeking Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities reach their life goals. You will support health, safety and daily living, in Day Activity Programs, Group Homes or Community settings.

Responsibilities include assisting with community integration, implementing PCP plans, providing adaptive skills training, and transporting individuals when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Preferred NC driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen & background check.
• Ability to read, write, follow instructions, read directions, and perform basic math.
• Patience, kindness and eagerness to help.
• Cultural competency in serving diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals to interact and participate in their community.
• Develop knowledge of the Person Centered Plan (PCP) to help individuals achieve goals.
• Provide adaptive skills training (personal care, daily living, social skills, budgeting).
• Offer meaningful activities based on individual preferences and program goals.
• May provide transportation in company or personal vehicle.
• Participate in meal prep, housekeeping, laundry, bathing and toileting.
• May document and administer medications.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Advocate for the rights of individuals and adhere to regulatory standards.
• Report concerns to supervisor promptly.
• Be flexible and adapt to changing environments and priorities.
