Job summary

SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) Office of Mental Health seeks a Direct Support Professional II for the Mauldin CRCF. Under supervision, you assist residents with daily living, supervise activities, help with medications, transportation, and meals, and ensure compliance with standards.

Requirements include an associate degree with one year of direct-support experience, valid driver\'s license, ability to work rotating shifts, and backup for state vehicle;

Qualifications

• Associate degree and one year of experience in direct support of persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid driver's license.
• Be able to work in a residential facility.
• Be able to work rotational shifts.
• Be able to drive a state vehicle.
• Physically able to lift, climb, navigate job sites, bend, stoop, move equipment and frequent travel.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care attention to residents and serve as a role model to develop residents' skills for independence; observe and record behaviors and document attendance and behavior.
• Assist residents in medication administration and compliance.
• Coordinate transportation for medical appointments and coordinate special activities and routine outings.
• Perform cleaning duties and cook residents' meals.
