Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) Office of Mental Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional II for the Turning Point-Community Residential Care Facility in Hopkins, SC. You will provide direct care, support residents in developing skills for greater independence, and help coordinate medical appointments and transportation.

Responsibilities include medication assistance, documenting progress, and maintaining a clean, safe living environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and one year of direct support experience or equivalent.
• Be able to work in a residential facility.
• Be able to work rotational shifts.
• Be able to drive a state vehicle.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents and model skills for independence.
• Assist residents with medication administration and compliance.
• Coordinate transportation to medical appointments and document visits.
• Perform cleaning duties and prepare meals for residents.
