Job summary

Devereux is seeking a Direct Support Professional II in Lompoc, CA to support adults in an autism spectrum-related residential program. You will help implement personalized plans and participate in community activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred.
• One year of experience providing direct care to adults with developmental disabilities required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• One weekend shift per week required.
• Direct Support Professional Year 1 Certification by the State of California.
• Direct Support Professional Year 2 Certification by the State of California.
• Registered Behavioral Technician Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing positive reinforcement and antecedent manipulation to increase appropriate behaviors.
• Assisting and supporting in planning, implementing and documenting programs for adults served.
• Accompanying residents on community outings, medical appointments and activities as directed by management.
• Must be willing to work with adults with challenging and/or aggressive behaviors.
