Job summary

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) in South Carolina is seeking a Direct Support Professional I. You will assist residents at the Mauldin CRCF with daily living activities, meals, and therapeutic activities under supervision.

Activities include guiding daily living skills, documenting care, and supporting the treatment team. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a willingness to work rotating shifts, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform daily activities.
• Ability to perform basic administrative tasks and communicate clearly.
• Must be able to work in a residential facility or assisted living setting.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to SCOMH and DHEC rules, ensure health and safety of individuals with mental illness.
• Provide direct hands-on individual care and guidance for daily living activities.
• Assist residents with medication administration and compliance.
• Transport and monitor residents to medical appointments and community activities; document visits.
