Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Direct Support Professional in Lumberton, NC, with a 7on/7off schedule and full-time status. The role provides direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges, guided by each person’s Centered Plan.

Expect responsibilities include helping clients communicate needs, assisting with daily living, and participating in team-based care.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of experience with the population supported.
• Must regularly lift 30 lbs; must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs; must be able to pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides support for individuals and/or groups of persons with disabilities in the community.
• Assists the person(s) receiving services in identifying and communicating requests and needs for services and supports.
• Implements services and supports to address the person’s goals and desired outcomes as identified through the Centered Plan.
• Work with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to identify appropriate support methods to achieve stated goals.
• Dispense medication, monitor dosages and make notes in charts per training level.
