Job summary

R&M Welty in Andover, MN is seeking a Direct Support Professional 2 to join our team. Starting at $18.00/hour with multiple shifts, you will help support vulnerable adults in a safe, compassionate home environment and contribute to high-quality care that enhances daily life.

You will work directly with individuals with mental illnesses, ensuring health and safety, and upholding respect, honesty, and compassion in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a DHS background and Motor Vehicle Records check.
• 1+ years of experience in a group home, DSP, or client care role.
• 1+ years of experience in de-escalation/redirection skills.
• Must be physically able to perform all job duties, including lifting, transfers, and emergency interventions.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with vulnerable adults living with mental illnesses.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the persons served at all times.
• Reflect values of respect, honesty, patience, and compassion in communication and relationships.
• Assist the persons served with active treatment services, daily living skills, medications, and development.
• Assist with transportation, documentation of services, implementing care plans, and interacting with stakeholders.
• Support Coordination tasks such as scheduling, payroll, reviewing documentation, and delegating tasks as needed.
