Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered care, build relationships, and support daily living activities in a residential setting.

Starting pay is $16.00/hr with potential increase to $16.50/hr after six months of consistent employment, plus a $2,500 hiring bonus. No prior experience required; training is provided to help you grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; we provide training and support.
• Comfort with basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Ability to read and write in English to ensure clear communication and quality support.
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record; DHS background check required.

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene, meals, and transportation.
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills.
• Advocate for rights, needs, and preferences of people we serve.
• Monitor health and well‑being and report changes as needed.
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings.
• Support up to 4 people in a residential group home setting.
