Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional - Lead Float to help individuals develop independence and strengthen their natural support networks. You will advocate for individuals in medical care and the community, observe with dignity, and support daily living activities including meal prep, personal hygiene, medication, cleaning, and laundry.

You may drive and accompany overnight trips as needed.

Qualifications

Experience working with vulnerable populations.
Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Medication administration training required (may be obtained after hire).
First Aid training required; CPR certificate may be required (may be obtained after hire).
Mental Health certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
Background study clearance required.
Driver's license required.
MVR with a satisfactory driving record required.
Ability to read, write, and use computer required.
Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
Ability to recognize boundaries.
Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
Patience, self-control, and flexibility.
Computer skills that support LSS technology.

Responsibilities

Provide support to help individuals develop independence in daily living activities.
Assist with meal preparation, personal hygiene, medication administration, cleaning and laundry.
Drive and accompany individuals on activities, including potential overnight trips.
Complete documentation and participate in required trainings and meetings.
Advocate for individuals in medical care and community settings.
