Envision Unlimited in Illinois seeks a Direct Service Professional to provide direct service and coordinate activities for residents in the CILA program. The role emphasizes helping residents with daily living skills, scheduling, and ensuring safety and quality in a community setting.

Qualifications include two years of college or equivalent experience, DSP training, TABE testing, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or one year of college plus two years full-time related work experience or high school diploma or equivalent plus five years full-time related work experience required.
• Proof of Direct Service Professional (DSP) training and TABE test within 120 days of hire.
• Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide training to residents in daily living skills including personal hygiene, housekeeping, laundry, meal planning and budgeting, socialization, and recreation/leisure activities.
• Assist residents in achieving their maximum level of independent functioning per the Independent Habilitation Plan (IHP).
• Implement programs promoting growth toward independent living skills for residents.
• Assist residents in preparing daily schedules including household chores, social activities, and appointments.
• Complete and insure timeliness of documents and forms (daily progress reports, shift reports, MAR sheets, etc.).
• Monitor maintenance of the living facility to ensure a safe, clean, healthy environment; perform cleaning duties as needed.
• Monitor residents to ensure wellness and safety; enforce curfew if required.
• Supervise and assist residents in taking medications in accordance with guidelines.
• Attend and participate in all IHP staffing and staff meetings.
• Report medical/behavioral emergencies following Health and Safety procedures.
