Job summary

Envision Unlimited in Chicago, IL is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide direct service and coordinate scheduling for residents in the CILA program. You will ensure services meet agency expectations and timely client appointments.

The role involves training residents in daily living skills, assisting with routines, documentation, safety, and collaboration with program leadership. Valid DSP training, driving ability, and vehicle access are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or one year of college plus two years of full-time related work experience or high school diploma or equivalent plus five years full-time related work experience required.
• Proof of Direct Service Professional (DSP) training and pass TABE test within 120 days of hire.
• Must have a valid driver\'s license and ability to drive agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide training to residents in daily living skills including personal hygiene, housekeeping, laundry and clothing care, meal planning and budgeting, socialization and recreation/leisure activities.
• Assist residents in achieving their maximum level of independent functioning per the Independent Habilitation Plan.
• Implement group and individual programs promoting growth toward independent living skills.
• Assist residents in preparing daily schedules including chores, social activities and appointments.
• Complete and ensure timeliness of documents (daily progress reports, shift reports, MARs, etc.).
• Monitor facility safety and cleanliness; perform housekeeping duties and assist with bedroom maintenance.
• Monitor residents\' wellness and safety and enforce curfews as needed.
• Supervise residents\' schedules and activities to ensure timely arrival to day programs or jobs.
• Assist and supervise residents in taking medications per guidelines.
• Attend IHP staffings and participate in planning recreational activities.
• Respond to medical/behavioral emergencies per Health and Safety procedures.
• Report issues to Program Director/Associate Director/Division Director.
• Transport residents to appointments and check rooms and building security.
