Job summary

Envision Unlimited seeks a dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide direct service and coordinate activities for residents in a Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) in Chicago, IL. You will support daily living skills and ensure timely scheduling of services.

Responsibilities include training in personal care, meal planning, budgeting, and recreation, documenting progress, and ensuring a safe living environment. A valid driver\'s license and DSP training are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or equivalent with related work experience, or high school diploma with five years related work experience.
• Must have proof of Direct Service Professional (DSP) training.
• Must have a valid driver\'s license and ability to drive agency vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide training to residents in daily living skills including hygiene, grooming, housekeeping, laundry, meal planning and budgeting.
• Assist residents in achieving maximum independence per the Independent Habilitation Plan.
• Implement group and individual programs promoting growth toward independent living skills.
• Assist residents with daily schedules, chores, social activities, and appointments.
• Complete and ensure timeliness of documents and forms (progress reports, shift logs, MAR, etc.).
• Maintain a safe, clean living environment and monitor resident wellness and safety.
• Monitor and enforce curfew when required and supervise residents\' schedules.
• Assist with medication administration per guidelines.
• Attend IHP staffing and participate in planning recreational activities.
• Plan menus and assist with meal preparation and dietary needs.
• Attend staff meetings and respond to emergencies following safety procedures.
• Report medical/behavioral issues to leadership.
• Transport residents to appointments and services as needed.
• Check rooms and secure doors/windows; activate alarms nightly.
