Job summary

Ability Beyond is seeking a Direct Support Floater in the Greater Danbury Area to assist adults with intellectual, developmental, physical, and behavioral health needs in residential and community settings.

You will help individuals build life skills, pursue personal goals, and stay active in their communities while working with a supportive team. A paid training program is provided, and schedules include full-time shifts across first, second, and third shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year previous experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to learn; paid training provided.
• Compassionate, dependable, and motivated to support others.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on support with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and medication reminders as needed.
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as budgeting, communication, and meal planning.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments, errands, and community outings.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and volunteer activities such as fitness, crafts, Special Olympics, and community events.
• Implement behavioral support strategies and use de escalation techniques when needed.
• Collaborate with nurses, behaviorists, nutritionists, and other clinical team members to provide well rounded care.
• Assist with goal planning, progress tracking, and skill development.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and daily activities.

Pay Rate: $21 per hour

Locations: Multiple programs across the Greater Danbury Area

Schedule: Guaranteed set full time schedules available including first, second, and third shifts!
