Job summary

Delta-T Group is seeking Direct Support Advocates to support a Worcester shelter for homeless families. You will work in a 24/7 team setting across day, evening, and overnight shifts to provide basic services and maintain safe daily operations on-site.

Ideal candidates have experience with at-risk populations, strong communication skills, CPR/First Aid certifications, and the ability to handle crises with good judgment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain appropriate social interactions with residents and assist residents as needed.

• Assist with preparation, serving and cleanup of meals during the shift.
• Intervene if a resident is in crisis (medical, mental health, interpersonal).
• Complete assigned tasks of shift.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the shelter.
• Attend and participate in monthly meetings and any other client required trainings.

Our Client is seeking Direct Support Advocates

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

This position is part of a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week team of professionals providing shelter and support for homeless families. We are responsible for the provision of basic services to clients and for the safe day-to-day operation of the shelter. The shelter is located in Worcester, MA.

Our client's current needs are for first shift (7am-3pm), second shift (3pm-11pm), and third shift (11pm-7am).

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

• Initiate and maintain appropriate social interactions with residents and assist residents as needed
• Conduct rounds of shelter to maintain safety and security of residents
• Assist with preparation, serving and cleanup of meals during the shift

CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous work with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities or other at-risk populations
• Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment, adequate communication skills - both written and oral
• Current CPR and First Aid Certifications
• Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs up to three or more sets, frequently move equipment weighing up to 5-20 lbs., and remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
