Job summary

Abraxas Youth and Family Services - Woodridge Interventions in Woodridge, IL is hiring a Direct Support Technician for a full-time role with a $17.00/hour wage. DailyPay is available and paid training is provided.

The Direct Support Technician will monitor clients in a substance abuse program, provide motivational support, arrange transportation, and assist with treatment plans. No experience required for many positions; training provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 21+ years of age and valid Driver's License.
  • Background checks required (federal and state).
  • Proficient with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of clients in a substance abuse treatment program.
  • Provide motivational and educational support to help clients meet therapeutic goals.
  • Schedule and coordinate client transportation and assist with planning recreational events.
  • Support treatment plans by reporting observations and contributing to therapy decisions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

As a Direct Support Technician, you are responsible for:

  • Monitoring, observing, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in a substance abuse treatment program
  • Providing motivational and educational support and guidance to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goals
  • Scheduling and coordinating client transportation and assisting with planning client recreational events
  • Supporting treatment plans by reporting client observations and contributing to decisions concerning therapy, discipline and privileges
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED

Other Qualifications:

  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.
  • Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • 3pm to 11pm
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
