Job summary
Abraxas Youth and Family Services is seeking a Treatment Supervisor to manage a specific treatment unit and provide direct supervision to staff. You will ensure strict adherence to policies, promote safety, and coach employees to grow professionally.
The role requires leadership, coordination of training, and ongoing oversight of daily operations within a residential setting, with a focus on delivering compassionate care and community impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services field and one year experience in residential treatment preferred.
- Associate degree or 60 credit hours with three years’ work experience with children.
- At least 21 years of age; valid driver’s license; medical clearance including TB and drug testing.
Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the activities of a specific treatment unit.
- Provide supervision to staff assigned to the unit.
- Ensure adherence to Abraxas policies and procedures.
- Lead, direct, guide and support staff for growth and development.
- Maintain employee schedules to ensure safety for clients and staff.
- Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work activities.
- Coordinate new employee on‑boarding and training.
- Conduct supervisory conferences, performance evaluations, and provide feedback.
- Schedule mandatory training and monitor compliance.
- Oversee case management activities and SCM usage.

In this role, you will manage and direct the activities of a specific treatment unit, including providing supervision to staff assigned to the unit. You will ensure that all Abraxas policies and procedures are followed. You will serve as the primary role model for employees by leading, directing, guiding and supporting them in such a way that promotes their growth and development.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain employee schedules that provide adequate coverage to ensure safety for both clients and employees.
- Develop and implement systems to organize and monitor work activities.
- Structure, implement, and facilitate new employee on‑job orientation.
- Conduct effective supervisory conferences and performance evaluations with employees, document the content of such meetings and evaluations, and provide feedback to them.
- Schedule employee training to ensure that all mandatory training requirements are met.
- Provide ongoing effective supervision to unit employees and monitor case management activities.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management (SCM) and provides effective supervision to staff regarding the use of SCM.

- Bachelor’s degree in human services field and one‑year experience in residential treatment is preferred
OR
- Associate’s degree or (sixty) 60 credit hours from an accredited college/university and three (3) years’ work experience with children.
- At least twenty‑one (21) years of age
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.
- Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
- Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre‑employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
- Full-Time
- Monday‑Friday, 2 Evening Shifts and 3 Day Shifts. Weekends rotate every 4‑5 weeks.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
