Qualifications

• IAODAPCA CADC certification or higher; professional licenses (LSW/LCSW/LPC/LCPC) preferred.
• Ability to promote positive behavior and manage resistant behavior.
• Physical ability to safely manage aggressive behavior.
• Assertiveness, confidence and leadership abilities.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Background checks and pre-employment screenings conducted.
• Ability to work with computers and required software.

Responsibilities

• Provide chemical dependency counseling services to patients and families.
• Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups.
• Complete assessment of each client.
• Initiate and sustain motivation to participate in treatment.
• Develop a comprehensive service plan for each client.
• Engage in group and individual counseling, community support, case coordination and crisis intervention.

What You’ll Do

As a Counselor, in conjunction with supervisor and treatment team, you will provide chemical dependency counseling services to patients and their families/collaterals through assessment and design, implementation, and revision of treatment plan. And, you will and provide group and individual counseling, community support, case coordination and crisis intervention services to clients with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Complete assessment of each client
• Initiate and sustain each individual’s motivation to participate in treatment.
• Develop a comprehensive service plan for each client.
• Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups.

Qualifications

Required:

• IAODAPCA certification CADC, or above. LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC.

Other Qualifications:

• At least twenty-one (21) years of age
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.
• Must pass both federal and state background checks which screen for crimes including, but not limited to drug related crimes, violent crimes, sexual abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, and repeated misdemeanors.
• Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
• Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
