Job summary

Turning Point of Central California, Inc. seeks a Direct Service Professional to support residents in achieving their treatment goals under the supervision of the Program Director.

You will assist with treatment plans, document progress, transport residents to appointments, lead daily living skills sessions, and participate in staff meetings and trainings. Physical presence on site is required, with willingness to cover all shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and some college units in a social service, healthcare, education, or similar course of study.
• 6 months prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Must meet the minimum age of 21 under California Health & Safety Code.
• Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
• Ability to write acceptable progress reports for treatment documentation.
• Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check and physical, drug screen and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the accomplishment of the treatment plan for residents under supervision.
• Maintain case recording documentation per agency guidelines.
• Transport residents to doctors' appointments and labs.
• Conduct daily living skills sessions and re-socialization groups.
• Attend staff meetings and weekly supervision with the Program Director.
• Participate in in-service trainings, seminars, and practicum.
• Assist in carrying out individual and group treatment programs for residents.
• Motivate residents to develop self-reliance in daily living.
• Observe residents' condition and report significant changes to the Program Director.
• Ensure staffing ratio is maintained by being able to work all shifts upon request.
• Respond to emergencies and drive on agency business.
