Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of MN is seeking a Direct Care Worker (DSP) to support people with identified needs in a four-person residential group home. You will build relationships, provide daily living assistance, and promote independence through person-centered care.

Starting pay is $16.00 per hour, with increases to $17.50 per hour after six months of consistent employment. A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered, and full training is provided to help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Ability to build relationships and provide guidance and support.
• Willingness to learn and adapt with training provided.
• Basic computer use to document care and stay connected with the team.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

Responsibilities

Standard DSP Pay:

• $16.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $16.50/hr!
• $2,000 Hiring Bonus!*
• $17.00/hr!
• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase to $17.50/hr!

What You'll Do:

• Build meaningful relationships while providing guidance, encouragement, and support
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, hygiene needs, meals, household support/cleaning, and transportation
• Support community involvement, social connections, and independent living skills
• Advocate for people with identified needs' rights, needs, and preferences
• Monitor health and well-being and report changes as needed
• Complete required documentation and participate in training and team meetings
• Residential group home setting supporting up to 4 people with identified needs
• Collaborative, mission-driven team focused on dignity, respect, and inclusion
