accessAbilities Home & Community Services in Apollo, PA is hiring Direct Care Worker- IDD to support individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Part-time positions with weekend shifts are available, including Saturday 7:30am-3:30pm, with flexibility for evenings.

Caregivers provide companionship and assist with daily living activities in private homes, helping with cooking, cleaning, shopping, appointments, and community outings while ensuring health and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift or transfer up to 100 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• Ability to obtain ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and assist with daily living activities in participants' homes.
• Help with cooking, cleaning, home chores, shopping, and attending medical appointments.
• Support participation in community activities and outings.
• Assist with socialization and adaptive skills development.

Skills

Ability to lift 100 lbs

Valid driver’s license

ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Companion Services

Employees provide services to participants living in private homes focusing solely on the health and safety of the participant.

IDD attendants might help a participant with:

• Cooking
• Cleaning
• Home chores
• Shopping
• Attending medical appointments
• Making crafts
• Playing a board game
• Watching a favorite show
• Providing companionship

In Home and Community Supports

Employees provide services to help people gain, maintain, and improve skills that allow them to live and participate in their local community.

IDD attendants may assist participants with the following:

• Gaining socialization and adaptive skills
• Shopping and errands
• Going out to eat at their favorite restaurant
• Taking a participant bowling, to a movie, or the library
• Exploring a museum, amusement park, or festival

Our participants enjoy being involved in community events and we are always seeking out fun things to do locally!

We offer flexible schedules! Work when you are available. Part-time hours available. Evening or Weekend Shifts.

Preferred :

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience as a Direct Care Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide or Direct Support Professional
• Prior experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
