accessAbilities Home & Community Services is seeking Direct Care Aide (IDD) attendants to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Adamsburg, PA. Flexible part-time schedules include evening and weekend shifts, with opportunities to assist in private homes and community settings.

Responsibilities include daily living support, transportation assistance, companionship, and helping participants participate in community activities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift/transfer up to 40 lbs unassisted, and 200 lbs with assistance (hoyer lift).
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Ability to obtain ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with daily living activities (cooking, cleaning, home chores).
• Provide transportation support and accompany to medical appointments.
• Offer companionship and engage participants in activities.
• Support participants in socialization and community participation.

Skills

Lift/transfer 40 lbs

Lift/transfer 200 lbs with assistance

Driver’s license & auto insurance

ACT 33/34 & FBI clearances

Education

Companion Services

Employees provide services to participants living in private homes focusing solely on the health and safety of the participant.

IDD attendants might help a participant with:

• Cooking
• Cleaning
• Home chores
• Shopping
• Attending medical appointments
• Making crafts
• Playing a board game
• Watching a favorite show
• Providing companionship

In Home and Community Supports

Employees provide services to help people gain, maintain, and improve skills that allow them to live and participate in their local community.

IDD attendants may assist participants with the following:

• Gaining socialization and adaptive skills
• Shopping and errands
• Going out to eat at their favorite restaurant
• Taking a participant bowling, to a movie, or the library
• Exploring a museum, amusement park, or festival

We offer flexible schedules! Work when you are available. Part-time hours available. Evening or Weekend Shifts.

• High School Diploma or GED
