accessAbilities,Inc. is hiring Direct Care Workers (IDD Attendants) in Youngwood, PA to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in private homes. We offer flexible, part-time schedules including evenings and weekends to fit your availability.

Responsibilities include cooking, cleaning, shopping, appointments, crafts, companionship, and community activities. 18+ with a valid driver’s license and clearances is required; CNA/DS or related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to lift or transfer up to 100 lbs
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
• Ability to obtain ACT 33/34 and FBI clearances
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED
• Prior experience as a Direct Care Aide, CNA, HHA or Direct Support Professional

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to participants with IDD in private homes
• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and errands
• Accompany participants to medical appointments and community activities
• Provide companionship and engage participants in meaningful activities
• Support participants in gaining socialization and adaptive skills

Companion Services

Employees provide services to participants living in private homes focusing solely on the health and safety of the participant.

IDD attendants might help a participant with:

• Cooking
• Cleaning
• Home chores
• Shopping
• Attending medical appointments
• Making crafts
• Playing a board game
• Watching a favorite show
• Providing companionship

In Home and Community Supports

Employees provide services to help people gain, maintain, and improve skills that allow them to live and participate in their local community.

IDD attendants may assist participants with the following:

• Gaining socialization and adaptive skills
• Shopping and errands
• Going out to eat at their favorite restaurant
• Taking a participant bowling, to a movie, or the library
• Exploring a museum, amusement park, or festival

Our participants enjoy being involved in community events and we are always seeking out fun things to do locally!
