Job summary

Mental Health Association is seeking Direct Care Workers to support individuals in a community residential setting, focusing on recovery and independence through person-centered planning. The role emphasizes respect, integrity, and compassion in daily tasks and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• CPR & First Aid certification required.
• Background checks required.
• Strong communication and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with daily routines (cooking, cleaning, hygiene).
• Teach life skills and promote independence.
• Provide transportation to appointments or activities.
• Encourage self-advocacy and connect participants to community resources.
• Facilitate group activities and house meetings.
• Respond to health or behavioral concerns using supportive strategies; maintain safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation.
