Institute for Community Living Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional in Bronx, NY to support adults with developmental disabilities.

You will assist with daily living, teach skills, monitor health and safety, administer medications as directed, accompany to appointments, and help individuals achieve greater independence within habilitation plans. The role requires AMAP and SCIP-R certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a high school diploma or DSP certificate.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OPWDD policies and state/federal regulations.
• Knowledge of active treatment programs for the developmentally disabled.
• AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
• Direct Care experience with people with mental and/or physical disabilities preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist individuals with daily living activities and personal care.
• Provide observations, evaluations and reports to the treatment team toward goals.
• Administer medications and therapies as directed and monitor health.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments and help with community activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and document progress per habilitation plans.
