Job summary

ICL in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care in a residential setting. You will assist adults with developmental or physical disabilities, supporting daily living, nutrition, and skills for independence.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and a DSP certificate; AMAP, SCIP‑R, CPR/First Aid within six months; a valid NY driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, medication administration (per AMAP), vital signs, and medical appointments.
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities, including meal preparation and safe food handling.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment and support general housekeeping.
• Promote development, independence, and community integration through skill-building and transportation.
• Encourage positive interpersonal relationships and money management.
• Observe, document, and report progress; participate in planning and training.
• Apply behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies.
