Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts, based in Rutland, MA, invites you to join our team as a Direct Support/Care Professional. You will work with youth aged 6–21, supporting learning, safety, and behavioral goals in a structured school environment integrated with our comprehensive care programs.

The role emphasizes direct supervision, trauma-informed approaches, and collaborative planning with a multidisciplinary team. A 2-week paid orientation is required before starting, with a strong commitment to

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Must attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.

Responsibilities

• Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
• Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
• Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
• Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Living Skills.
• Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
