The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health, seeks a Mental Health Worker I to provide direct care to homeless and mentally ill individuals, assisting with daily living, rehabilitation, and community integration. This full-time role includes varied shifts (7:00am-3:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, 11:15pm-7:15am) and mandatory overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Capacity to perform basic mathematics.
• Proven ability to observe and question individuals.
• Strong written and spoken communication; concise reporting.
• Calm, patient interaction with people under emotional stress.

Responsabilités

• Assist with activities of daily care, treatment and rehab for homeless and mentally ill individuals.
• Support self-medication as directed by licensed staff and MAP procedures.
• Assist in obtaining medications and participating in treatment plans.
• Promote positive social skills and ensure human rights are observed.
• Help with housekeeping to maintain a safe environment.
• Provide transportation guidance to access services and schedule appointments.
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings and report progress to supervisors.
• Document observations in clients' records for continuity of care.
