Job summary

Homestead of Denison is seeking a Direct Care Worker (meds) to provide focused daily living support for residents. The role includes assisting with transfers, bathing, dressing, peri care, meal support, and documentation of care per policy.

You will maintain med room hygiene, assist with housekeeping and laundry, and participate in safety and infection-control practices. Responsibilities include passing meds, reporting to RN on med needs, and ensuring care plans are followed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must complete required in-service education and Relias assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in and out of bed and into wheelchair.
• Assist with bathing, dressing and peri care.
• Take and record vital signs as scheduled.
• Provide dining assistance and support feeding as needed.
• Maintain med room, med cart and medication administration per physician orders.
• Provide housekeeping, laundry and linen services as scheduled by the Director.
• Document and report information about residents before leaving shift.
• Support safety, infection control, and emergency procedures.
