Job summary

Regional School District 19 is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at Edwin O. Smith High School to provide direct behavioral and instructional support to students with disabilities.

The RBT will implement individualized interventions, collect data, and help students develop skills for independence and school participation. Qualifications include a high school diploma; an associate's or bachelor's in related fields is preferred, and RBT certification or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, behavior analysis, special education, human services or related field preferred.
• Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Ability to relate to children with special needs and work with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience implementing behavioral interventions and collecting data.

Responsibilities

• Implement behavioral interventions and positive behavior support strategies.
• Collect, record, and interpret basic behavioral data.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary educational team.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Respond calmly to challenging or unsafe behaviors.
• Complete required training and maintain certifications.
