Job summary

The Brook Hospital’s Dupont campus in Louisville is seeking a Director of Intake to lead admissions with a patient-centered approach. You will supervise a team responsible for patient evaluations, level-of-care determinations, call management, crisis intervention and coordination of referrals.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Social Work or an active Kentucky RN license, with at least 3 years in psychiatric care; CPI/CPR certification within 30 days; and primarily day shifts with occasional

• Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in psychiatric patient care.
• Active RN, LCSW, or LMFT license in the appropriate state.
• Must obtain CPI and CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment.
• Hours: Primarily day shift with occasional evening/weekend coverage.

The Director of Intake provides strategic and operational leadership for the hospital’s Admissions Department, ensuring effective access to care and clinical assessment services. This role oversees a team of specialists responsible for patient evaluations, level-of-care determinations, call management, crisis intervention, and coordination of admissions and referrals.

The Director of Intake collaborates closely with medical staff, nursing, administration, and external partners-including referral sources and payers-to ensure efficient, patient-centered intake operations.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, or active RN license in the state of Kentucky.
