Job summary

The Brook Hospital seeks a Director of Intake to lead admissions operations at our Dupont campus, a full‑service 88‑bed behavioral health facility offering inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs.

The role collaborates with medical staff and external partners to ensure timely access to care, accurate level‑of‑care determinations, and patient‑centered intake processes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, or active RN license in Kentucky.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of related experience.
  • Licensure: Active RN, LCSW, or LMFT license in appropriate state.
  • Additional Requirements: CPI and CPR certification within first 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to Intake team members.
  • Oversee departmental budget, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and analyze data related to admissions trends and patient experience.
  • Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning and process improvement.

The Director of Intake provides strategic and operational leadership for the hospital’s Admissions Department, ensuring effective access to care and clinical assessment services. This role oversees a team of specialists responsible for patient evaluations, level-of-care determinations, call management, crisis intervention, and coordination of admissions and referrals.

The Director of Intake collaborates closely with medical staff, nursing, administration, and external partners—including referral sources and payers—to ensure efficient, patient-centered intake operations.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, or active RN license in the state of Kentucky.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of related experience required. Prior experience in psychiatric patient care and understanding of mental illness is preferred.
  • Licensure: Active RN, LCSW, or LMFT license required (in the appropriate state of practice).
  • Additional Requirements: Must obtain CPI and CPR certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Hours: Primarily day shift, with occasional evening and weekend coverage as directed by the CEO.
