Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Dining Team Member to assist Valentino's and other dining concepts within the Nebraska Unions Food Commons. The role emphasizes friendly guest service, accurate order processing, and safe food handling in a fast-paced environment.

As a Dining Team Member, you will support daily restaurant operations, manage front-of-house tasks, and ensure cleanliness and compliance with health standards while working varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School education plus one year of experience in a work environment required; equivalency considered.
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure necessary.
• Ability to communicate essential.
• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional customer service to all guests
• Process customer orders accurately using the POS system
• Prepare food and beverages according to company standards and customer requests
• Fulfill mobile and in-store orders efficiently
• Stock front-of-house and kitchen supplies
• Prepare ingredients and assist with inventory management
• Operate dishwashing equipment and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met
