Job summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a Dining Services Director to lead the community's dining program, supervise the dining team, and ensure nutritious, high-quality meals with exceptional hospitality for residents, families, and guests.

The role partners with vendors and leadership to maintain safety, regulatory compliance, and budget adherence while providing hands-on training and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with culinary training OR 3-5 years of culinary experience required.
• Applicable state/county licensure required.
• Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain, is required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Previous staff management and/or coaching and mentoring of dining services team experience is preferred.
• Experience in a senior living community is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word), HR-related systems, EHRs, and web platforms.

Responsibilities

• Supervises 10-15 employees in dining services.
• Schedule staff and provide coverage when needed.
• Maintain vendor communications & budget.
• Support catering, room service and events.
• Manage food inventories and keep costs within budget.
• Train staff on kitchen equipment and hygiene.
• Recruit, orientate, and hire new dining staff.
• Assist with sales/marketing and resident tours as needed.
• Manage department schedule via Attendance on Demand.
• Adhere to infection control and food safety standards.
