Job summary

The Village at Rockville, part of National Lutheran Communities & Services, is seeking a Dining Services Coordinator to manage dining operations for residents. The role focuses on coordinating meals, ensuring safety, and delivering high-quality, compassionate service.

You will oversee tray assembly, nourishment distribution, and staff training, while aligning with NLCS’s values and policies to create meaningful daily experiences for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in commercial cooking or healthcare food service.
• At least one year in a Food Service Coordinator role.
• Certified Food Service Manager required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Strong math and weights/measures skills.
• Ability to read and speak English.

• Trains workers in performance of duties.
• Supervise tray assembly process.
• Supervises nourishment preparation and distribution.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

• High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred
• Minimally two years of experience in commercial cooking or healthcare food preparation is required
• One-year of Food Service Coordinator experience and Certified Food Service Manager Certification required
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Ability to prepare/handle food using safe food handling practices
• Basic math skills and knowledge of weights and measures required
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to communicate at all levels, provide instruction and train other employees as required
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Ability to read and speak English
