Job summary

Morningside House Senior Living in Exton is seeking a Cook who brings warmth and a passion for serving seniors. You will prepare nutritious meals per menus, maintain food safety, and work with the Dining Services team to ensure a welcoming dining experience.

This part-time role offers growth opportunities and a range of employee perks, with the potential to move to full-time after probation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Previous food service or cooking experience.
• Experience with senior living a plus.
• Required food handling/sanitation certifications, or the ability to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to daily menus and standardized recipes.
• Cook and serve food in a timely, efficient manner.
• Work the serving line during meal service.
• Plate meals attractively with appropriate garnishes and condiments.
• Maintain proper food temperatures throughout preparation and service.
• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and serving areas clean and sanitized.
• Rotate, label, date, and properly store all food products.
• Minimize waste through proper food storage and inventory practices.
• Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Create a welcoming experience by maintaining a positive, professional attitude with residents, families, visitors, and fellow team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Part-time, 24 hours per week, days pending.

Position Summary
