Job summary

Morningside House of Exton is seeking a Cook who brings warmth, kindness, and a passion for serving seniors. You’ll prepare nutritious meals, uphold high food-safety standards, and work closely with our Dining Services team to create a welcoming dining experience.

We offer a part‑time schedule at 24 hours per week with a starting rate of $22/hour, plus DailyPay, a referral bonus, and benefits after probation. Join us to grow professionally in a supportive senior living community.

Qualifications

• Must have a positive attitude and work well in a team.
• Dependable, hardworking, and service‑milled approach to residents.
• Must hold or be willing to obtain local/state food handling certifications.
• Experience in food service or cooking is preferred, especially in senior living.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to daily menus and recipes.
• Cook and serve meals in a timely, efficient manner.
• Assist on serving line and plate meals attractively.
• Maintain proper food temperatures during prep and service.
• Keep kitchen and serving areas clean and sanitized.
• Rotate, label, and store food; manage inventory to minimize waste.
• Participate in trainings and staff meetings.
• Follow all safety and sanitation standards.

Position Summary

As a Cook, you'll help create delicious, nutritious meals for our residents, guests, and staff while maintaining the highest standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. You'll work closely with our Dining Services team to ensure every meal is prepared with care and served with pride.

What You'll Do

• Prepare meals according to daily menus and standardized recipes.

• Cook and serve food in a timely, efficient manner.

• Work the serving line during meal service.

• Plate meals attractively with appropriate garnishes and condiments.

• Maintain proper food temperatures throughout preparation and service.

• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and serving areas clean and sanitized.

• Rotate, label, date, and properly store all food products.

• Minimize waste through proper food storage and inventory practices.

• Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

• Create a welcoming experience by maintaining a positive, professional attitude with residents, families, visitors, and fellow team members.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.
