Job summary

Morningside House of Exton is seeking a Cook who brings kindness, positivity, and genuine passion to the dining experience for our residents. You will prepare meals and ensure quality, safety, and presentation in collaboration with the Dining Services team.

The role is part-time, 24 hours per week, with days pending. Starting pay is $22/hour with DailyPay, and after a 90-day probation period you may become eligible for a full benefits package including health, life, and 401(k) options, plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Previous food service or cooking experience.
• Experience with senior living is a plus.
• Required food handling/sanitation certifications, or the ability to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals per daily menus and standardized recipes.
• Cook and serve food in a timely, efficient manner.
• Work the serving line during meal service.
• Plate meals attractively with garnishes and condiments.
• Maintain proper food temperatures throughout preparation and service.
• Keep kitchen equipment, workstations, and serving areas clean and sanitized.
• Rotate, label, date, and properly store all food products.
• Minimize waste through proper food storage and inventory practices.
• Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Create a welcoming experience by maintaining a positive, professional attitude with residents, families, visitors, and fellow team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As a Cook, you'll help create delicious, nutritious meals for our residents, guests, and staff while maintaining the highest standards of quality, presentation, and food safety. You'll work closely with our Dining Services team to ensure every meal is prepared with care and served with pride.
