Job summary

Morningside Elite Management in Exton, PA is seeking a Cook for part-time/PRN roles to join our dining services team. You will provide high quality meals to residents, guests, and staff, work the food line, plate meals attractively, and supervise other staff as needed.

The role reports to the Director of Dining Services and requires a food production mindset, sanitation discipline, and a positive, professional demeanor toward residents and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Formal culinary training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food per daily menu using standardized recipes, timely.
• Works the food line during mealtime and plates attractively.
• Ensures proper food temperatures and sanitation.
• Keeps stock rooms, coolers and freezers clean and organized.
• Maintains stock and labels perishables with dates.
• Adheres to Morningside Elite Management policies and safety standards.

Available Shifts / Schedule

We are looking for a few fill in shifts per week- Ideal for an experienced chef looking for a few extra hours in a new environment

Cook - Position Summary:

Provides high quality meals at all times to residents, guests, and staff. Participates in all aspects of food production. This position may be required to supervise other staff positions. The cook reports to the Director of Dining Services

Cook - Responsibilities:

• Prepares all food in accordance with the daily menu planner, using standardized recipes, in a timely manner.
• Works the food line during mealtime.
• Plates food in an attractive manner and ensures that all condiments and garnishes are prepared and served with the appropriate foods.
• Keeps work area and serving line equipment clean and adheres to sanitation cleaning schedules.
• Ensures proper food temperature maintenance.
• Keeps stock rooms, coolers & freezers clean and ensures that food supply stocks are rotated, all perishables are labeled, dated and stored properly.
• Keeps food waste to a minimum by using food storage and food recycling techniques.
• Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
• Performs all duties in adherence to Morningside Elite Management standards.
• Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward all residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Adheres to all policies and procedures of Morningside Elite Management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Cook - Requirements:

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• Experience in a commercial kitchen
• Formal Culinary training preferred
