Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is hiring a Dining Services Associate to support the Dining Services Director in delivering signature dining experiences for residents. This PRN role involves preparing and serving meals, maintaining safety and sanitation, and providing friendly service during shifts that may vary.

Open Interviews are held every Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 440 N Lynnhaven Road, Va Beach.

Qualifications

Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
Previous experience in the food service industry.
Ability to read and write English.
Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances; tolerate kitchen heat.
Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe sanitary manner in accordance with Public Health Regulations and Sanitation Code.
Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS.
Maintain a clean, safe working environment with proper handwashing and cleaning.
Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a pleasant, respectful manner for residents with special needs.
Practice safe usage of all department equipment and clean/sanitize as per schedules.
Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes.
Receive stock and store according to procedures.
Follow cleaning procedures when mechanical equipment is unavailable.
Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
Other duties as assigned.
