Job summary

Pleasanton South Nursing and Rehabilitation seeks a dedicated Dietary Aide to support daily dietary functions in a skilled nursing setting, following established dietary policies to deliver compassionate care.

You will assist cooks, serve meals, maintain safety and infection control, and keep dining and kitchen areas clean. Requirements include Health screening, TB test, drug test, and a current Food Handler’s Permit, with at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Orientation completed as per company policy.
• Health screening and TB test within two weeks of employment.
• Mandatory drug test upon hire.
• Criminal background check required.
• Familiar with local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job.
• Satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment within three days of hire.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Dietary Aide or similar role.
• Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, life safety, and infection control policies during daily tasks.
• Assist cook, prepare food, and learn diets and menus.
• Serve meals, clear dining areas, and wipe tables.
• Wash dishes and keep work area clean and organized.
• Ensure tray preparation follows prescribed menus and resident preferences.
• Prepare and distribute snacks to the nursing department as needed.
• Stock storeroom and manage supplies.
• Take out trash and clean kitchen, dining room, and pantry areas.
