Job summary

MorningStar of Boise is seeking a Dining Room Server to provide high-quality dining room service in a senior living community. The role supports residents, relays meal orders to back-of-house staff, and delivers excellent service in a warm, gracious environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the dietary department of a health care facility or restaurant preferred, but not required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Knowledge of regulations related to ADA, infection control, health department, and OSHA

Responsibilities

• Be present in dining room for full meal service.
• Assist with special functions as scheduled.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitary conditions.
• Oversee bistro areas as directed — food presentation, cleanliness, stock supplies, beverages, etc.
• Know the specials of the day and how they are prepared and presented.
• Learn and remember individual resident names, dietary needs, requests, likes and dislikes.
• Serve hot food hot and cold food cold.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance process as directed.
• Sanitize tables and chairs, reset tables, and vacuum floors after each meal.
• Attend trainings, orientation, and mandatory meetings.
• Demonstrate core values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Meet applicable regulations (ADA, state, infection control, health department, OSHA).
